All of the photos here are of wild marine mammals I've seen while exploring the coast or nature preserves.
Pier 39 in San Francisco is an excellent tourist place to find them congregating in large numbers, but you can also spot them swimming close to shore at almost any coastal beach or in piers and harbors.
Species you'll see here are: California Fur Seals, Harbor Seals, Sea Lions, Elephant Seals, etc.

Special shoutout to The Marine Mammal Center (TMMC) for being the largest marine mammal hospital in the world. While their headquarters are based in Sausalito, their response range is roughly six hundred (600) miles, from San Luis Obispo to Mendocino. If you see a marine mammal clearly in distress, DO NOT TOUCH IT. Rather, maintain your distance and please call TMMC at: 1(415) 289-7325
